This week Damon Courtney, founder of BookFunnel, and Chrissy Munroe, Senior Manager Author Performance at Kobo, sit down with Trudi Jaye to discuss the Indie publishing market: what’s hot, what’s coming soon, and what they both see in their crystal balls for the future.
If you’ve never heard of BookFunnel, it’s a fantastic platform that started out to help authors give away their reader magnets to newsletter subscribers. More recently it’s branched out to other services, including helping authors create cross promotion opportunities, and also helping sell books from websites. Damon is an author himself and he talks with hundreds of authors every week, so he has his finger on the pulse of self publishing and the platform is super author friendly.
Kobo is one of the main distribution channels for ebooks, with more than 5 million books for its readers on the site. Authors can use the Kobo Writing Life platform to publish their books for Kobo readers in over 190 countries around the world. The platform is simple and intuitive to use, and Chrissy and the other Kobo staff are friendly and open to talking with authors about ways to promote and encourage sales on the platform.
It’s a great opportunity to hear some really useful tips and insider knowledge from two people who know the market and what’s working for other indies. It was a huge privilege to have them both on the show!
